Pastoral Transition
On June 8, Church Council shared the news that Pastor Erik Christensen has been elected Bishop of the Metropolitan Chicago Synod. As he prepares to begin this new call, Pastor Erik’s final Sunday at Trinity will be July 26, with his final day in the office on July 30. Council is actively working with synod leadership to determine the next steps in the pastoral transition process and begin preparations for the search for our next pastor.
While this transition comes sooner than anticipated, the Council’s primary goal throughout this process is to guide Trinity forward through this unexpected period of change, building on our many strengths while providing transparency of process, administrative support for staff, and ongoing member support through worship and pastoral care.
