Serve Our Neighbors
Faith In Action
The Faith in Action Committee at Trinity is committed to providing opportunities to stand with our neighbors and seek a more just and compassionate world.
Summer Soup Kitchen
Faith in Action will step in to organize the Summer Soup Kitchen on June 14, July 12, and August 16. If you’re willing to help plan, cook, or serve on any of these dates, please sign up through the button below or reach out to the church office.
Make Your Voice Heard!
Singing Resistance Evanston invites you to learn simple, group songs of courage and resistance on Sunday, June 7, 7:00–8:30 PM at Trinity. No sheet music, singing experience, or reservations necessary. All ages and voices welcome. Click here to learn more about Singing Resistance.
Then help us inspire a large group sing-along during the No Kings Unity Block Party on Sunday, June 14, from 5:00–7:00 PM at Church and Dodge streets in Evanston. It will be a democracy focused Flag Day celebration with music, crafts, postcard writing, and food. Please bring a donation of cleaning or laundry supplies, full-size toiletries, or paper products for Evanston’s 611 Free Store. For more information, contact Suzie LaBelle or the church office.
Shine the Light (Thursdays Evenings)
Inspired by the Beacons of Light movement, the Evanston Interfaith Clergy and Leaders (EICL) invites the community to gather each Thursday for a simple, visible act of hope and solidarity. As part of the growing nationwide interfaith movement known as “Shine the Light,” neighbors stand publicly with handmade signs affirming human dignity, compassionate democracy, and support for those targeted by cruelty and fear. The group will meet at 6:00 PM beginning June 4.
Gather at any of the Evanston locations (people will be present at all three each week): Dempster & Ridge; Chicago & Main; and Central Street & Lincolnwood Drive (near Hartigan’s Ice Cream). This is a low-barrier, 30-minute public witness. Bring a sign (or we’ll have one for you), and stand with your neighbors. If you’d like to attend with other Trinity members, contact the church office. Please note that the time will change this spring as the days get longer, so check for updates. Anti-Hunger Ministry
At Trinity, our mission is to transform lives by living the Gospel of Jesus Christ. We do this through service to fight hunger in our community and beyond. We provide food, resources, and hope to those in need through meal prep, food collections, and partnerships with local and global organizations. Learn more through the button below.
June Mission Possible
Global Refuge, formerly Lutheran Immigration and Refugee Service (LIRS), is the arm of the ELCA that serves refugees, immigrants, and asylum seekers. For more than 85 years, Global Refuge has welcomed those seeking refuge, helping newcomers rebuild their lives through resettlement services, advocacy, and community-based support. While current U.S. policies have slowed the arrival of refugees, many immigrants and refugee families already in the United States continue to need assistance as they adapt to a new culture, find education and employment opportunities, and build community. Financial contributions to Global Refuge help ensure these individuals and families receive the support they need to thrive.
You can support this ministry by donating via check to the church office, using your bank’s bill-pay, or giving online (please note “Mission Possible” on your gift).
