Songs of Hope, Courage, and Solidarity
On Saturday, March 14, Trinity had the privilege of hosting a Community Pulse sing-along in collaboration with Chicago Artists for Action and Singing Resistance. The evening of music brought neighbors together to share hope, build courage, and strengthen solidarity through song.
As described in an Evanston Now article about the event, this singing movement began in Minnesota and has been spreading as communities gather to sing songs rooted in the long tradition of protest and freedom music.
During our time together, participants learned simple, singable melodies, listened to one another’s stories, and added their voices to music that calls people toward compassion and justice. The event also provided active support for those in Minneapolis by raising $1270 in donations for the Wilson Foundation.
Thank you to everyone who attended, helped set up, and offered hospitality. We’re grateful for the chance to open our doors to the community and will share details about future opportunities to gather, sing, and serve as they arise.
With appreciation to Evanston Now for coverage: “Resistance singing movement comes to Evanston” (published March 15, 2026).
