Francine Markwell: Celebrating One of Many

Following the Congregational Meeting on Sunday, August 9, SALT (Senior Adults Learning at Trinity) will celebrate longtime Trinity member Francine Markwell. She is one of many whose gifts, leadership, and faithful service have shaped our congregation. After 52 years of active involvement, Francine is stepping into a new role: "pew sitter and online viewer."

SALT hopes this celebration will inspire us to recognize others in our church family through gatherings, worship acknowledgments, or even a simple rendition of "Happy Birthday" at coffee hour.

Proud of her Kentucky heritage, Francine earned a degree in Music Education from Western Kentucky University. After teaching in three cities, she came to Evanston, where she spent 22 years teaching general and choral music at Chute Middle School, influencing generations of students before retiring in 1992.

Since joining Trinity in 1974, Francine has served as a Deaconess, sung in the Sanctuary and Handbell Choirs, served on a Pastoral Call Committee, chaired the Worship Committee, and participated in senior adult ministries.

Music has always been central to her ministry. In retirement, she became even more involved in Trinity's music program, enriching worship through her musical gifts, leadership, and deep understanding of sacred music.

Please join us in The Gathering Space on August 9 to celebrate the many lives Francine has touched through her music, faith, and service—and give thanks for the many others whose gifts continue to enrich Trinity! We will serve a light lunch and have an amazing program of music and memories!
