Journey Through Lutherland 2027

Step into the pages of history and walk where the Reformation began.

Take an unforgettable “Journey Through Lutherland” pilgrimage taking place April 29–May 6, 2027. This once-in-a-lifetime experience will trace the footsteps of Martin Luther through some of Germany’s most historic and inspiring sites.

Beginning in Berlin, travelers will explore a city shaped by both triumph and tragedy, visiting landmarks including the Brandenburg Gate, the Berlin Wall Memorial, Checkpoint Charlie Museum, and the Holocaust Memorial. From there, the journey continues to Wittenberg — the heart of the Reformation — where Martin Luther nailed his 95 Theses in 1517. Guests will tour Luther House, Castle Church, St. Mary’s Church, and the Luther Oak, while worshiping together in the very place where Luther’s movement took root.

The pilgrimage also includes a day in Leipzig, rich with musical and spiritual history, featuring St. Thomas Church, where Johann Sebastian Bach served as cantor, and Nikolaikirche, whose peaceful prayer gatherings helped spark change in East Germany. Travelers will then journey through Erfurt and Eisenach, exploring the Augustinian Monastery where Luther studied and the breathtaking Wartburg Castle, where he translated the New Testament into German while hidden as “Knight George.” The experience continues in Mainz with a focus on the history of Bible printing and the revolutionary impact of Johann Gutenberg’s invention of moveable type.

Along the way, participants will experience meaningful worship, rich culture, unforgettable sites, delicious meals, and deep fellowship with fellow travelers. Whether you are passionate about history, theology, music, or simply seeking a meaningful spiritual adventure, this journey offers something extraordinary.

On Sunday, May 17, at 11:00 AM in the chapel, come to a special presentation with Leslie Kane and discover what makes this trip so special, ask questions, view the itinerary, and imagine yourself traveling the same roads that changed the course of Christian history.
