All Church Retreat

The Trinity All Church Retreat will be held at Illinois Beach Resort in Zion, IL, February 26-28! Please join us as we take the time to relax, rejoice, and renew, to do something that will so greatly enrich our lives, the lives of our children, and the lives of those in our faith community.

Our speakers this year are Dr. Dave and Kathy Ludwig. Dave is a Lutheran pastor and a professor at Lenoir-Rhyne College, an ELCA college in Hickory, NC. Kathy’s career has been as a school teacher and tutor. Dave has written extensively and spoken internationally on the spiritual growth of relationships within oneself, family and church. Central to his thinking is a deep understanding of the organizing spiritual force to life. Relationships organized around shared responsibilities and joy (around a “WE”) built on the promise of God’s design for humans offer a loving alternative to an increasing “MEoriented” culture. Dave and Kathy have traveled extensively and given presentations around the world on the healing power of “WE” using their own brand of humor and insight.

Saturday, February 27, 2010
Breakfast On your own, the resort’s dining room will be open for breakfast from 6:30 to 10:30 a.m.
8:30 a.m. Registration opens (in the Resort’s Grand Ballroom)
9:00-Noon Morning session (in the Resort’s Grand Ballroom), with coffee/tea breaks
   Children will gather in the Grand Ballroom along with adults, then leave for separate programming.
   Nursery will be provided for children 0 to 3 years of age.
Noon Lunch on your own after morning session concludes: Options include the Resort’s dining room, a local restaurant, carry in or home brought.
Noon to 5:30 pm Free time
5:30 p.m. Join us in the TLC Hospitality Suite (TBD) for pizza and salad. Food and beverages will be provided (with donations accepted to offset cost).
6:30 p.m. Evening Session (in the Resort’s Grand Ballroom) for adults;
   Scavenger Hunt for kids (also beginning in the Grand Ballroom).
8:00 p.m. TLC Hospitality Suite open for refreshments, games, conversation, etc.

9:00 a.m. TLC Coffee Hour (in the Resort’s Grand Ballroom) (coffee, coffee-cake Trinity style)
10:00 a.m. TLC Sunday Service (in the Resort’s Grand Ballroom)
Special musical contributions by many of our talented fellow congregants, and a morning of joyful
worship to conclude our retreat.
