Dance & Drama

At Trinity, drama and dance are valued as expressions of praise and prayer, challenge and humor in our worship.

Drama

Use of drama in the worship services is coordinated through the Worship Committee and is utilized approximately monthly. Drama is used in various ways such as short plays, dramatic readings of scripture, and tableaux. The dramas are directed by church members, and rehearsals take place as needed.

Liturgical Dance

Praise His name in the dance: let them sing praises unto Him with the timbrel and harp.
Psalm 149:3

In the Hebrew tradition, dance functioned as a medium of prayer and praise, as an expression of joy and reverence, and as a mediator between God and humanity. To the Early Christian Church the purpose of liturgical movement was to bring glory and honor to God and to take the focus off of the self.
