Sunday School is part of Trinity Lutheran Church’s ministry for children and youth.  We meet each Sunday morning at 10 a.m. and offer programming for kids ages 2 through 8th grade.  We encourage parents to participate in Sunday School, either by volunteering to assist with an activity or discussing the lessons at home.  Two year olds through 5th graders participate in a classroom curriculum focusing on various activities to meet their learning needs.  Sixth through 8th graders meet separately and focus on faith and life.  The Children & Youth Committee members meet monthly and support and assist in Sunday School planning and curriculum.

Sunday School is currently using two curricula: SPARK! by Augsburg Fortress & Godly Play.

About Godly Play®

Through parables, sacred stories, and liturgical action presentations, the wonder of God is opened. The Godly Play® method focuses clearly and deeply on the child’s spirituality. This evolves, enhances, supports, and enlarges the quality of relationships in other activities for children and their families.

Our Approach to Education

This approach to religious education is really broader and different than what is traditionally thought of as “education” and doesn’t involve a classroom setting. It’s about engaging the child to be a member of a circle and to wonder about God’s elusive presence through story.

See more about Godly Play here.

Jr. High Sunday School (grades 6th – 8th) focuses on current and relevant issues.

Meeting schedule: Sunday School meets weekly during the school year. We meet each Sunday during the school year at 10:00am in age appropriate classrooms. At 10:45am, the prek-8th grade classes will head upstairs to the sanctuary for a time of celebration, prayer, and music.
