If you've never worked through the whole Scripture - Genesis through Revelation - here's another opportunity.
Ask some former students if they think it was worth it. There may be some who would want to take it a second time.
Here are the kinds of things we'll be talking about as we read the Bible:
- Covenant is a key concept in Scripture. How does it differ from a contract? What light have
archaeological discoveries shed on our understanding?
- Why was David's making Jerusalem the capital a politically shrewd move? How does the Old Testament's
view of Jerusalem differ from the New Testament's?
- God promised David that his house (line, dynasty) would last forever. What happened to that promise?
- What is a holy war, and how does the concept change?
- What are the characteristics of Apocalyptic literature? How does that help us understand it?
- What is the significance of the fact that Luke's Gospel starts and ends in Jerusalem, while his book
of Acts starts in Jerusalem and ends in Rome?
Do these questions at all intrigue you? I hope so. Would you like to join us? Would you like to
work through the whole Bible at least once in your life?
