Twenty five years ago, Blogs were never talked about as part of the ministry tasks and opportunities for a pastor. Bible study was something we knew about. Worship planning was automatic. Organizing things for the youth group was definitely in the mix. Even tasks like helping prepare the bulletin, flipping pancakes for the Easter breakfast, and putting chains on the tires of the parish van were done by lots of colleagues ... but we never heard of Blogs back then.
Happily, the church does not follow only routines and procedures of the past. Keeping the best of our traditions and never changing the Gospel foundation which forms our message, we are constantly reforming how we bring that message of Good News to the world. (It's a Lutheran thing to keep the spirit of reformation alive.)
So here we are ... Kicking off a new medium for sharing the message of Trinity Lutheran Church. I think I may now be the oldest member of the team contributing to this new website. Wonderfully dedicated members and friends have brought our new presence on the Internet into being. We all want Trinity to be alive and engaging, relevant and current. So we're getting started with new tools and a fresh look ... and I'm learning about how to blog. God's Spirit can equip and teach us all new paths and new ways. May God bless those who course through these pages ... and may they come to know the people behind the images and the God who is behind all that we do!
