106 years ... that's a really long life!
106 years ... that's a lot of time to live and share!
106 years ... that seems like plenty of time to get things done.
Over the Memorial Day weekend, we had the memorial service for Louise Braklow. We gave thanks to God for her 106 years. We marvelled at all the inventions that came along during her life. We recognized all that she accomplished.
During a coffee and cookie fellowship after the service, I was struck when one of the ladies expressed her regrets that she never accomplished something with Louise. I couldn't help but wonder, "What were you waiting for?"
We have a tendency to put things off. We tend to wait for the right mood or the right timing or similar. In the process, we let a lot of occasions pass us by.
Coming away from the weekend, I'm encouraging folks, "Don't wait!"
Don't wait to tell your spouse you love him/her.
Don't wait to tell your kids how proud you are of them.
Don't wait to phone or visit an old friend.
Don't wait to compliment a co-worker.
Don't wait to offer a word of forgiveness.
Don't wait to pray or talk with God.
Very few of us will have 106 years of opportunities.
Don't wait!
