I do not look forward to Lent. I haven’t been willing to participate but to a limited extent – showing up on Ash Wednesday to sing with the choir and “get ashes”, then avoiding the singing of “Alleluia” while waiting for the celebratory time of Easter.

It's easy for me to feel Lent as a wildernesssimply by lookingoutside.The snow is getting old, the sky is grey, the dark comes too quickly.Its easy to feel alone.
Trinity has a history of supporting Elijah's Pantry in Logan Square. Each month, we donate food to the pantry and throughout the year, we go to the Greater Chicago Food Depository on their behalf. We work with St. Philip Lutheran Church (in Glenview) and we earn food credits for our food pantry.
This weekend marked the Chicago marathon. Runners come together from all fifty states to run, what is considered, one of the top five major marathons around the world. They train for months and set their own goals.

This past Sunday our ninth graders were officially welcomed to Hi-League. They may not have asked for the welcome, or even appreciated it, but they were welcomed. Our upperclassmen gathered at church around 5:15 a.m.,

Phew! We have officially kicked off the school year. This past Sunday was our Youth Sunday and Sunday School Opener. This day feels fairly overwhelming to me. We have A LOT going on... The Hi-League, our high school youth group, leads our worship services.
Last week, I went back to Valparaiso University, my alma mater, for the funeral of John Steven Paul. He was a contemporary and very involved in the drama and theater programs and classes at V

Twenty five years ago, Blogs were never talked about as part of the ministry tasks and opportunities for a pastor. Bible study was something we knew about. Worship
